Default How Remove Upper Trim Panel on Steering Column

Looking to remove the Steering Column Upper Trim Panel, but even with the upper screw removed, I attempt and slide it straight out and seems like there is a an upper lip that stops it.

Can't figure out a way to remove, even if I bend upward, seems like will snap.

Anyone done this before?

Referring to part #18 on this link:
http://www.bmwpartscounter.com/showA...ssembly=154419

Thanks in advance...

I am not sure if the upper section can be easily removed with the steering wheel in place... But, try removing the lower section first, then see if the upper section is loose enought to remove.

I've removed the upper portion. I do think i removed the bottom first.
I remember there being a plastic fastener that needed to be removed.
