Syn or Fossil? The 2nd car in my household is a 98' ti. I am planning on doing some routine maintanence to it and I wanted to know what the dealer has been putting into my 1998 318ti. Syntentic or Fossil??? Also, she is at 80k miles and Id like to give her a nice overhaul to make sure she doesn't break down anytime soon. Thanks! I don't have any reason to believe all dealers would have to use the exact same oil.......But if you are concerned and want to use the same oil that was put in her last time, call that dealer up and ask what they use. __________________ 97 sport | | | 09-15-2005, 01:22 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | in general, dealers will use dino juice unless you specify synthetic. if it costs over $45, it's probably synthetic, or you're being screwed. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 09-15-2005, 03:24 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Mt. I do not see much difference whether to use synthetic or organic, if you stick with oil change every 3,000 miles. __________________ 1998 BMW 318ti M-Tech Sport Silver (Gone to member leeko617) CURRENT: 2015 BMW X1, 2004 BMW 330ci Convertible, 1998 Porsche Boxster, 2001 BMW 525i Touring GONE: 2000 Audi A4, 2002 VW Passat, 1985 VW Cabriolet | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
