I was told that it only needed a new ignition switch but it needed alot more. The dealer that had it had someone try to put a used non ews lock cyclinder in. I changed that out and put the proper one in along with a new ring antenna, ignition switch and ordered a new key. when I put the key in and turn the ignition everything lights up but it doesn't crank. I was told by my guy from the parts dept. that I shouldn't have to have the ews aligned since the parts were coded for my car. thanks in advance | | | 01-14-2008, 02:04 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | nice to see a denver user. um i am pretty sure that has to be aligned by the dealer. i could be mistaken though. just double check if battery is charged. there is a good group of guys that meet up in denver area im sure they would love to help you out with anything and have you join their meets. heres a link to their upcoming meet. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthrea...highlight=mhti __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 01-14-2008, 02:08 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | O snap i didn' notice that, thanks josh for pointing it out. I think i could have used your help since you have done this before but oh well at least we know who to go to if it happens again. | | | 04-23-2008, 11:17 PM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Denver,CO Posts: 27 | yeah I could not fix it my self either. I had to have my independent bmw shop take care of it. They have an autologic system that lets them code keys and instrument clusters and stuff like that. From what I hear they can do anything the dealer can and do it a little cheaper. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
