I need your opinion. I'm thinking about starting a general BMW forum. I know I'm biased, but I like the flavor of this forum. I like the spirit of this community and feel it can translate to a BMW forum that covers all models. But the big thing is I would need your support. The forum software will not be vBulletin or IPB. I would hope not to have paid sponsors but continue with site supporters to cover costs. What do you think? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org Last edited by 1996 328ti; 09-24-2010 at 08:47 PM. | | | 09-25-2010, 12:27 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I'd probably go on it since I'm kind of a forum junkie (I have 8 that I go one regularly ) but I can't help but think that it would just turn into another bimmerforums, I put myself down as undecided | | | 09-25-2010, 12:37 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak I'd probably go on it since I'm kind of a forum junkie (I have 8 that I go one regularly ) but I can't help but think that it would just turn into another bimmerforums, I put myself down as undecided | That would be good in a way. Just without all the BS, censoring and banning. Guess I should not have paid for 3 domains. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 09-25-2010, 03:05 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Lancaster PA Posts: 274 | Keep it simple and include E46's and I am game! The ti is nice, but, when I have to go somewhere far away and move fast the E46 330i ZHP is the sharpest knife in the drawer... I can't help but think about mwerks.com though, I loved vwvortex and mwerks was supposed to be the BMW off shoot, but it just never gained support. If you think there would be enough support I say go for it. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-25-2010, 06:52 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | This would be great. I have a few other BMWs that I work on but I have reserved myself from posting about them too much. how about BMWs that have a similar platform (E36 and E30). Maybe just one dedicated to BMW's with rear hatches (tourings only!)... I know people will be kicking in the beginning. I figure I might try a full service BMW forum too. I'd most likely still keep hatchbacks separate. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 09-27-2010, 01:12 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Lancaster PA Posts: 274 | Just remember, no good deed goes unpunished... | | | 09-27-2010, 01:17 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Great idea! I like the people on this forum and the way the forum is run. I would support your general forum 100%. Not sure about the new bikes. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 09-27-2010, 06:10 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Merritt Island, FL Posts: 351 | I vote go for it. Sometimes I find myself going to a more general forum for info from time to time anyhow. This is by far my favorite forum so if that feel translates to a general BMW forum I would dig it. __________________ Alpine Weiß 1995 318ti M50tu mostly stock, chip'd 413, AFE Intake. e36 M3 front brakes, e30 M3 rear calipers. e28 3.25 LSD + e30 axles.
