What's M-Tech?
so you have a 96 ... just need to figure out what model it is one can usually tell this from the options.

M-tech is the name for the stock "M" pieces. they were offered as part of the sport package, but you can also add them afterwards.

do you have other pics of the side? be nice to see if you have the m-tech side mouldings and skirts. obviously, we won't be seeing the front bumper

I went to the auction the other day to check out another 318ti (badly smashed up) that looks exactly the same as mine from the outside which also had no compliance plate. The interior is different to mine. Mines got half leather seats with an extra thing near where your knees are which can be extended whereas the other one had normal material seats without that seat extention thing, mines got black colour interior the other ones grey, but it has this button near the steering wheel titled ASC (Anti-Slip Control?) whereas mine doesn't.

Under the hood, mines got wires that go to the fog lights, I don't know if that gives a hint as to what it is.

I don't have a camera

Aaah... whatever it is, I'm happy. I got it cheap as chips.

those are the sport seats so i'd guess steven is correct in that you have a 96 sport. are the side mouldings present? if so, it looks like they had them painted to match the car color.

By the M-Tech mouldings, do you mean the part circled below?

Mine have been stripped off, both sides.

As for the side skirts, they look exactly like those in the picture above.

What else comes in a Sports package?

it's the whole moulding that that little "m" badge circle above fits into (from just behind the front wheel well to just in front of the rear wheel well. the m-tech moulders are wider (or taller if we you want to look at it that way) than the regular ones.

Are you in the US? If so I have never heard of a package like that. It has to be aftermarket. Also any 318ti I have ever seen came with 16" wheels at the largest.

sorry, back to seats: if you have the front extending part in your seats, does that mean that they are the sports seats?

I would say yes. Sport seats also have the larger side bolsters.

i just bought my first bmw a week or so ago.
Its a white 95 not sure of the package, sport maybe with 15 alloy wheels and what apears to be no other options, cloth seats, 5 speed, no cruse, no sunroof,
no foglights, no power or heated seats, no trac control.
i'm guessing a base with up graded wheels or a stripped down sport feel free to fill me in
