I'm not sure about mine either.
1996 318ti.
A/C
no fog lights
prewired for cd and alarm in hatch
no cruise
no hole in roof (darn)
power windows
5 sp
1.9 M44 engine (cylinder head is going to the shop tomorrow).
17 inch 225/45/17--are these too big? They sure look cool. Not stock, right? All black with the BMW logo in the center.

hey! I just bought my Ti a few days ago...

I'm beginning to think I have a '95 Sport, after reading through this while topic and others.

March 95
Red w/ black side skirts, bumper valences
Colour-matched non-M Mirrors
No M-Tech anything
Manual Sport Seats (leather + cloth)
Black Interior w/ squiggly pattern
Leather 4-Spoke Steering Wheel + Shift Knob
5-Speed
LSD
Cruise Control
No OBC
Sunroof
AM/FM/Cassette/CD Changer

It came with the 15" 10-Spoke Sport Wheels, and 15" Steelies + Hub Caps / snow tires.

Any reason to think that this isn't a '95 Sport - I haven't voted yet!

Hey there Rich, welcome to the forum. The fact that you have the leather/cloth sport seats and a LSD would lead me to believe that you have a sport model, however people often swap parts on these cars. In '95, the only models that came with M Technic trim were ClubSports. Congrats on the purchase and again, welcome to the forum!

I wish there was an LSD available for the 323ti........

I guess BMW thought that ASC+T is the same and put that in instead....it's ok for bad weather conditions but not a LSD

Just swap in a LSD diff from an e30 or Z3... there are lots of us who have done it (myself included!)

anything is possible... but the interior all seems original.

is there a way to check which suspension is which?

what are the two OEM sizes of sway bar?

318ti non-sport models came with 25mm front swaybars, sport models came with 26mm:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...20&hg=31&fg=10

E36 M3's came with 23mm swaybars, but they're tied to the struts with swaybar links:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...67&hg=31&fg=10

Non-M e36 coupes and sedans came with 24mm front swaybars and the swaybar links attach to the chassis like the 318ti.

Sport it is! Thanks Jess.

The front bar is 26mm. And it seems a little low and firm to be just a basic BMW. It's nearly the same as my old lowered Datsun for ingress and egress.

I picked up a base 97 with 134k, sunroof, ASC, automatic (yeah I'm wiered), for only 2 grand. Thought I was getting a deal, now I'm into another 'project' car.
It died the first day I had it. Bought it 'as is' and the seller was a total DB when I told him about what happened. Drove fine in the test drive, should have drove it longer.
So, I'm done venting. Love the car, just not its project status. Once I replace the coil and some of the vacuum lines it will be a daily driver.
My first bimmer is an adventure.

I have an Alaska blue 96 m sport. No sunroof. Cloth and leather manual seats (black) i dont have any things that add extra weight, such as cd changer, and stuff. I have a lot of plans for this car! I'll be a 332ti sooner or later lol. Got 185 on the odometer. In Incredible shape.
