Default Z3 LSD

Hi guys, I have a chance to buy a LSD from a totalled Z3 2.8, Just wondering if they are directly swap into our Ti? if they do why do people using big case E30 LSDs? Thanks

Yes, check to make sure the input flange is for a 4bolt driveshaft, and e30 diffs are used because of their inexpensive prive and large availability.

i thought the e30 mounting points were different than the ti??

Z3s are four bolt pinions (or input shafts). These diffs are the mid-size diff case which is the same as the E30. You'll need the half shafts as well and the ABS sensors will need to be shimmed.

The diff is a direct bolt in for a TI with the correct halfshafts. Early TI models will require some customation to the hatch floor support to fit the diff. Later models came from the factory with the necessary modifications to accept the diff.

My personal experience:
1995ti - had to be modified.
1998ti - direct bolt in.

Again, both require E30/Z3 half shafts.

I honestly dont see how theyre required when mine worked fine?

I'm thinking about picking up this diff http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1207071
what do you all think? Will it fit the ti? is there a way to swap out the input flange for a 4 bolt?
