nice video! Yea for Munich.

The host cracks me up with lines like "holds on like grim death" while being totally monotone.

it would be a 335ti because the first digit resembles the series type

and its going into a 3 series

Darn, I thought this was going to be someone asking which one to buy so I could give my opinion of how the Evo X is a disgusting car and an embarrassment to the Evo line.

i still can't decide whether i like the looks of the 1er or not.... im leaning more towards not

I find it sad that the i4 single turbo mitsu engine almost puts out the same power as the i6 twin turbo... *shakes head*

it would be interesting to see the HP/torque curves. puts out the same power where? if it's really peaky, it's place is definitely on the track and you better keep the revs up. sounds like the bmw's power is much more usable and evenly spread over the revs, just increase weight of right foot

EDIT: i don't know diddly about the mitsu (and i'm sure there are plenty of mods), but i know that dinan already has a software only upgrade that really adds significantly to the output of the twin turbo 6.

And yet, even with AWD and the twin-clutch transmission, the Mitsu gets stomped by the RWD automatic 1er in straight line acceleration. Horsepower alone does not make a fast car.

Of course it doesn't... im just talking paper-to-paper figures... AWD sustains a brutal amount of powerloss through the drivetrain.

and i didn't see it get stomped , they both roughly do low 5's to 60mph do they not?... and either way, performance doesn't make up for its lackluster, down-syndromey look.

Put both right in front of me stock vs stock, and Id probably end up with the mitsu. And trust me, im a bimmer freak - i just think chris bangle should be shot for letting that front end leave the factory.

Well, in the video, they managed 0-60 in the Mitsu in 5.2 seconds. BMW claims 5.1 seconds for the 135i, and they "consistently ripped off 0-60 in 4.7 seconds."

Don't get me wrong, I like Evo's, I just think they've tried to take it more mainstream with the X (kinda like Subaru and the STi). While the 1er may not be the prettiest car out there, I think it still looks better than many other cars available right now (Toyota Yaris hatchback anyone?).
