- it is easier to get passengers into the back seat, including really little ones
- you can add an OBC with lots of buttons and have a fun toy for the grown ups.

| that is a better wy to look at it, i like it, it just has SOOO MANY MILES! | | | 05-27-2006, 11:48 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | What year is it, I have heard that the early models (92-93) were problematic. First couple of years of the first all CAD designed cars were not fully sorted out. I probably wouldn't touch one with that many miles unless it were a 95 or newer. | | | 05-28-2006, 12:00 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | BMW sorted out all the major E36 engineering problems by Fall 1993. If you get one built then or afterwards you should be in pretty good shape in that regard. Maybe I am just unlucky, but everyone I know who owned an E36 built before 1993 was happy to be rid of it. | | | 05-28-2006, 12:10 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Potomac, Maryland Posts: 230 | its a 95' PHEW! but... what would be a good price for this many miles? | | | 05-28-2006, 12:49 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | That would depend on the maintenance that was done on the car. Regular oil & Filter changes is critical, plus flushing all fluids at least every couple of years. That is a lot of miles, but on a 12 year old car is only 15K per year. Was this a highway cruiser or just a town car? That impacts the wear, clutch, brakes, A/C and so on. Get the records if you can. | | | 05-28-2006, 01:05 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: San Juan Capo, CA Posts: 216 | For shure man get records .... thats major ... my bro has an e30 that has 285xxx on it and he has never had any problems with it ... but they owner befor him took great care of the care ... plus the miles could work in your favor ... you could beable to talk him down ... plus the fact that he is moving to the west coast is an even beter thing ... find out when he is moving .... cuz if he is pressed for time ... he will realy want to get rid of it ... and if your the only one interested then your golden ... __________________ 96 318ti:cat back magniflow, m3 body kit, projector headlights, m3 tails, moded ecu chip, intake, short shifter, highflow cat, front strut, upgraded audio system | | | 05-28-2006, 01:13 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Potomac, Maryland Posts: 230 | alright, thanks guys! will post upon news | | | 05-28-2006, 02:37 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Portland Oregon Posts: 1,363 | Talk him down to 4500 see what happens | | | 05-28-2006, 04:24 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Berlin, Germany Posts: 258 | I have carfax free until the end of the month.
