I've heard that it works on non-serious dents. Nothing major, but i've also heard that sometimes that thing doesnt release the glue right away after the dent is out, therefore causing two more dents from the mechanism that pulls it out in the first place.
That "pops a dent" unit can work, if used properly on very minor dents...I just had 5 dents removed by a paintless dent removal shop and it only cost me a little over $100 Canadian ($85 USD). Your best bet is to try one of them rather than chance it, unless you are feeling particularly brave
