My personal opinion and I hate to crap on any car.

It is a very nice car but over priced...Someone will buy it at that price but there are ones just as nice for $1,000's less

Best, JB

Did you actually go look at this car? If so, did the guy ever address the thing with the hanging brake light? This car will make you drool, but at $8900, I don't mind to just keep dreaming about it! LOL. Besides, I'm still not sure if a Ti can, or could, ever adequately replace my mint, 50k-mile '90 Miata...because I couldn't keep them both.

+1 His car is a deal. Even if it had some small stuff its a sweet package...
I have not seen it in person but I've watched his posts and pics and I'd be on it if my 12 yr old did not need braces...

its clean but way too much for a ti. +1 on the craigslist idea but your obviously not on a budget if you are considering a $9000 ti.

You need a bumper sticker that says "My other car is... on my childs teeth. "

It's very clean, and I think the low miles are why you would be paying a premium.

In the end though, as nice as it would be to have a 10+ year old car with 50k miles:

1. People are driving these cars around with over 200k miles*...so it's not like they die at 100k or anything. (*IF you maintain them)

2. There are cars in just as good condition with higher miles for thousands less (like say $5k)

3. It looks to be a base, or at the most an active.

4. You will always pay a premium buying a car from a dealer rather than a private sale.

To be honest...there's a Ti for sale on this board (it's a Hellrot) for $5k, that is in pristine condition. I don't think I've seen a nicer condition Ti. I don't know the miles and forget the seller...but I'll look for the thread.

It's in Cali, but I'd take a trip to the west coast for this car in a heartbeat. $4500 obo? Seriously GTFO. I so wish I had the money...

a ticket to fly out here probably wont be more than 3-4 hundred so you will still be paying under 5 and maybe even less if you know how to talk. looks clean, and red most def. looks better than that black one.

That's some serious bucks. I recently bought a nice, well-maintained, high-mileage one off eBay for $3500 and another off AutoTrader that is decent for $3450. I'd rather have two good tis and a few thousand dollars than one great ti.

Will an insurance company pay you $8900 if you total it, or will they give a "book value" price of a few thousand? I'm guessing one careless deer is all it would take for you to lose several thousand dollars on that car.

Nice hubcaps.

Roger on the hubcaps... Insurance will only give you book value, for a total loss, which for this car, is about 6 grand. (U Eat The Rest.)

As for that Hellrot car, I'd rather pay $7K for this black car in NJ, than $5K for that one in CA, reguardless of it's condition. There's a big difference between 52K miles and 159K miles...on any car! This, of course assumes that the seller would even negotiate to $7K, and that we all agree that no one in their right mind would pay $8900. for it.
