Hay any of u brits changed the exhaust?? Its gonna be my next main mod i think and wanna see if anyone recommends a particular dealer or brand i can easily get hold of in the uk? I want something that looks decent so prob 2 straight exit pipes and sounds a bit more meaty then the standard but doesnt sound like a bean can with holes drilled in it (also known as a 1.1 106 or clio with a massive exhaust if ya get me!) Cheers (sorry shoulda read anyone upgraded their exhaust!!) | | | 10-01-2006, 07:34 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Middlesbrough UK Posts: 34 | Hi, I changed my stock exhaust for a magnex cat backbox, looks great and sounds better. Still got that stock rattly noise from centre section somewhere but its got rid of that high pitched exhaust note. It cost me 216 quid delivered but its alittle loud on the motorway around 75-80 mph. Hope this helps | | | 10-01-2006, 08:47 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: LA & Colo Spgs Posts: 210 | Quote: Originally Posted by oakley ...but doesnt sound like a bean can with holes drilled in it (also known as a 1.1 106 or clio with a massive exhaust if ya get me!) | LOL...Here in the U.S. we would call that a "coffee can" exhaust... Not sure where you would get such a beast in the UK, but when I lived in the Netherlands, I added a Remus exhaust to my M44 "Compact". I picked it up at D&W distributor in NL (big German reseller with distributors in Belgium, NL, and Germany). You'd have to pay in Euros instead of "quid" ;-) Not sure if they are still around or not, but their website was... www.dundw.de or www.dundw.com Good Luck! | | | 10-06-2006, 10:42 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: UK Posts: 163 | mine has the Eisenmann one on it... very nice too... __________________ BMW 318ti Sport Compact Dakar Edition TOTAL BMW Magazine - Project car #2 Mods: BB Throttle body * Gruppe-m induction * Engine re-map * AC type 3 Lightweight 17" alloys * Eisenmann exhaust 2 X 70mm pipes * Hand brake and Gear shift - Vitesse products * Black Grilles - De-Chromed! * Eibach Springs and dampers (30mm lower) * ACS S3 Dakar mirrors - Now on and looking mint! * Carbon Fibre M3 Lip * Carrying 318ti.org stickers * Coupe headlights with HIDs and Gen6 angel eyes | | | 10-06-2006, 01:29 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | How does the remus sound on the m44? Im thinking about getting something more aggressive/deep than my supersprint. O yeah, i heard that the racing dynamics one sounds pretty good too. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 10-06-2006, 07:59 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: LA & Colo Spgs Posts: 210 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma How does the remus sound on the m44? | IMHO, it sounds very nice...much deeper sound than typical for a small 4 cylinder. When I drove up to my first car club event after having it installed, people commented that it sounded like a 6 cylinder. I don't think it's quite that deep, but it's definitely an improvement over the puny stock sound... | | | 11-16-2006, 03:40 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Anyone have any sound clips of a remus on a 4cyl? __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 11-16-2006, 04:15 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: lancashire, england Posts: 300 | Quote: Originally Posted by Anth2006 Hi, I changed my stock exhaust for a magnex cat backbox, looks great and sounds better. Hope this helps | same here, dead raspy around 3 grand, more noisier around 85mph. good quality though magnex, will definately last a lifetime and i did get a good power hike when i mated it to stainless steel gauze air filter. | | | 11-16-2006, 11:59 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: ipswich Posts: 656 | gona get me a magnex off ebay 216 delivered | | | 11-18-2006, 05:03 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: ipswich Posts: 656 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
