Default Lightbulb in A/C Panel

This bulb came out of the air conditioning unit.

Does the bulb seperate from its housing or does it come all together?

If it does all come together, is BMW the only place I can buy replacements or can I buy it from the shops?

All 3 lights are together. I'm sure you can get the lights some where else, but maybe BMW would be the easiest as long as they don't over price the part.

What 3 lights?

By the way, I managed to pull out the light with a pair of pliers (after the glass broke), but I don't think it's supposed to come out... can anyone please confirm if the bulb comes out or not.

Bulb and base are one unit. As I recall, black base for center dash controls and gray base for headlght switch illumination. The bulb for the ashtray is the same as one of these, can't remember which. You could search the archives. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4127

I bought a 12V/1.2W bulb today and slipped it into the housing (after I ripped out the other one with pliers) and it worked.
