Default Door handle weatherstrip?

I searched and could find no specific reference to this, which seems odd as I have both a Ti and a Z3 and they both have the same issue. The weatherstrip around the door handle is dry rotted/cracked. When looking at realoem though, i cannot distinguish if it is a separate part - OR if its part of a larger assembly, which part it is?

I have a hard time believing that no one has not had the same issue, but searches i did all came back to the door weatherstripping at the windows. Any thoughts?

I just ordered the door handle covers a few days ago. When they arrive, I will let you know if they include the seal. I know I've bought the seals for around $6.00 via e-bay, but that was several years ago and they might not be available any more.

Default install

Are the claims true that they can be installed without removing the door panel?

You will see a plastic gasket when you open the door pry it off with a screw driver (you can see better if you take all the plastic gasket out) look in there with a flashlight you will see a rod that pushes forward, Door handle trim will pop right off. Use a paint can opener to set the rod back in place when you replace your gasket. Hope that helps.

I just received my handle covers from getbmwparts.com and the seal/weatherstripping part is included.
