She drove it 400 miles after she bought it and the cooling system blew....It sat for 6 months, and I heard about it and gave em a few bucks for it. It is a mechanics special, it just had a JY motor put in it (the one that blew up) and everything was shot... They paid 3400 and drove it 400 miles.... __________________ No more ti. | | | 05-09-2011, 05:10 AM | #188 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | It happens...that's why I get concerned when some of our young enthusiasts take the plunge on very high mileage ti's with no service histories. I admire their enthusiasm, however, and a car poorly bought can be a good lesson for the future. | | | 05-09-2011, 09:46 AM | #189 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Phoenix Posts: 1 | Quote: Originally Posted by jca It happens...that's why I get concerned when some of our young enthusiasts take the plunge on very high mileage ti's with no service histories. Bought a used engine for $400 and got it running in 3 weeks after replacing the radiator and coolant hoses. It has 198k miles now and still runs like a champ. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 06-26-2011, 11:34 AM | #195 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2011 Location: Shelby Posts: 1 | my good post | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
