Default Extreme MPG suckage!!

Just filled my tank a few minutes ago. I reset the odometer. I get home and look down. I drove 10.8 miles, and my tank is already 1/8th's empty. Wtf?!

Somethings to know:

No check engine light.
No cracks in my boot.
Spark plugs and wires replaced last year.
Checked tire pressure last week.
My cat is slowly going bad.
I just recently replaced my front brake pads and rotors last night.

o2 sensors going bad in conjunction with a failing cat will kill your mileage...

Good call James. And would it be ok if I took it off another ti from a junk yard?

Could be ok, it's always a gamble taking that stuff off junk cars though...

But wait, wouldn't a bad o2 send off a CEL? The o2 always went out on my sentra, and it would throw a CEL.

Check that first. Possibly a dragging pad or stuck caliper

Drive it around the block a couple times, make a few normal stops, put it in neutral and coast. See if it stops or pulls without applying the brakes. Then get out and feel around the front wheels. Don't touch the rotor or caliper because it will be scorching hot. If you notice one is significantly warmer than the other, check your tire pressure, I bet it's almost double what it's supposed to be.

When I put it into netrual it stops. The driver side is warmer. I checked my tire pressure, and they're coming up fine. On the pads, the tip closest to the hub is slightly touching the rotor. How do I undrag the pads?

before you over-react... run this tank close to empty and refill. Then check the miles travelled vs gallons to fill and get a real MPG reading. For all we know, you have a guage the reads funny at the top end.

Fuel hose leak between pump and regulator is my guess. No way to burn 1/8 tank in 10 miles unless it's a gauge issue

While I was driving? I didn't have a single car behind me for 95% of the drive.

As much as I'd love to, and be glad to admit it, I didn't race. I was driving like a human being for once. And I was driving through a neighborhood. Not much space to race.
