I reused the starter since the flywheel share the same teeth pattern as the stock ti's transmission. Im using the e46 m3 flywheel and pressure plate BUT im using a 330i e46 clutch disc. The input shaft on the getrag 240 is smaller than the 6speed e46 gearbox. It just fit. I had to modify the slave push rod. Make it a few mm smaller but other than that is straight foward.

I know this is 2 years later than your post, but I am doing a similar swap with an e30 320i which has a Getrag 240 as well. I am just wondering how the Getrag 240 is holding up. In addition to this did you just grind a few mm off the slave rod? Did it grind on the clutch housing with the stock length? Thanks in advance.

To avoid grind the slave push rod just use the e36 m3 slave
