I just purchased a 97 ti recently, and much as i like it, i wish it had foglights. It was originally bought without and still has the factory blanks in place. Can someone tell me how easy/hard it would be to wire the fogs if i got the original fog/headlight switch? thanks in advance. | | | 11-18-2006, 12:45 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | apparently it takes at least 4 hours, up to 10. | | | 11-18-2006, 03:32 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | If the car isnt wired for fogs, you can buy a kit off ebay for like 20 bucks that comes with the wiring, fuse, and switch. Only takes an hour if you know what youre doing. I wired mine up in about 1.5 hours because i installed HID's in them as well. Very easy thing to do. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 11-19-2006, 09:00 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | There are two kits, one is for factory original install. Takes most of a day to install. Then there is a add-on wireing setup thats basically a generic kit and does not come with the switch that goes right of the instrument cluster, its switch goes in the switch bank below the dash. So it would be possible to wire in the factory switch, I hope. I really don't like extraneous stuff like that hanging off my dash. thanks for the replies! | | | 11-19-2006, 08:36 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | Yeah, and if you attempted to do the install, you would need to run the wires through the firewall, JUST LIKE I AM TRYING TO DO RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
