Default 95 318ti missing after warm and dies at stop

I have a 95 318ti. It has recently developed a miss. The miss is intermittent and I can do nothing to replicate it. It doesn't start until after the engine has warmed a bit. It does it in the city and at highway speeds. CEL blinks randomly sometimes the miss is associated with the blink, but most of the time it misses whenever it feels like it. I have replaced the plugs and wires (the wires were in rough shape) and am scratching my head.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Has anyone heard of this problem or experienced it. I could really use some help on this.

If the CEL comes on, it is being stored.
I would suggest scanning the codes first.
I believe there is a method (OBD-I only) using the gas pedal to scan for codes.

I have checked the codes. It changes back and forth between the 2 knock sensors. I have swaped the sensors and still have the same issue.
