According to the VIN, it is not a sport, but an Active Package.

(quick google search shows sport struts with red label, not green... but I would not consider this info definitive... )

So could an active package have the sport springs? The rear shocks were the red label sport rear shocks which I assumed to be original and the rear springs have green paint to identify as well.

The front struts are some no name brand that were made in south africa. The numbers on the right strut were 746887 and G200504 which I could find nothing about doing a search. The front springs have the green paint on them as well so I am assuming that the car has the sport suspension. Please correct me if I am wrong as I don't want to buy the wrong shocks for this car. Thanks for the help with the decoding and other info.

The Active package did not come with the sport suspension. It was more a comfort and amenity package (Cruise control, OBC, etc.).

I just looked at the set of sport springs I have in my garage (just put coilovers on the AB ti...) and they have reddish paint marks on them.

Again, that said, I cannot give you a definitive answer, as I don't have the complete maintenance history on my car. However, I suspect that your rear shocks might have been replaced in the past with sport shocks, and that the springs are original.

Thank you for all your help. I was able to find out that the front struts currently on the car are gabriel ultra struts and they don't appear to be a sport strut. I am going to order some of the normal shocks and stay with the factory setup. You were a big help in giving me the information needed to figure this out. It always helps to talk with someone that is familiar with what is what!!! Thanks again.

James, thanks so much. That's quite a bit of info, some is straight forward and some makes little sense (HECK, 25% diff, Transport Protection Pkg.) Also, how can I tell if I have a base, active or sport model?

No problem Dan, happy to oblige.

Canadian versions were a little bit different than USA versions, but it appears you have an Active package (cruise control, upgraded stereo, leather steering wheel, etc).

The 25% diff means you have a limited slip diff, with a 25% lockup ratio. The Transport protection package (and the master battery switch) are additions to protect the car while being imported from Germany when new.
Heck translates to Rear or Stern, so when referenced to the Drive, it means Rear Drive...

Wow that's awesome, thanks for the info! I had no idea I had a the M sport package and M sport suspension, and I don't think the previous owner had any idea either! That's great news, if only it were stick haha. Also had no idea it had a 6-cd changer since that was not mentioned from the previous owner either, where do I find the unit that hold the cd's? hahah Great info, thanks I think I got away with a better deal than the other owner thought!

An Arctic Silver sport is a great looking ti, nice find. The VIN report shows

"S692A CD WECHSLER I-BUS VORBEREITUNG Preparation, BMW 6-CD changer I-bus"

That means the car was pre-wired for the cd changer, but wasn't installed. The I-bus note is the style of connector used (mainly from 96 and later).
