Nick G's stuff is good, but if you keep making changes to the car you are going to want the flexibility of a PC III or some other Piggyback ECU. The Nick G. stuff is a close to OEM as you can get so driveability will be great. with a piggy back unit you are keeping the stock ECU and changing singnal voltages, so it will work but you may have some kwirks here and there. With a Piggyback if you chane something you can retune. With software you will have to pay to have your car re-tuned. -Chad | | | 07-18-2005, 06:03 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: tailgating your slow ass Posts: 518 | was wondering if anybody has done the install them selves? How long does it take and does it require allot of special tools and stuff like that to get the job done | | | 07-18-2005, 03:31 PM | #7 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | I completed the install on an M44 over a 3 day weekend. It took me about 20 working hours. I am pretty anal and made sure that everything was clean and tight. Only general mechanics tools and paitents are required. -Chad | | | 07-20-2005, 01:16 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Cairo, Ard el golf Posts: 27 | it seems its a big job.. ! hhehehe.. ! im sure 1stimers would have big problems installing SC.. ! __________________ -----tEso----- ..::bmw E36/5 316i ...Hamann 17" HM2 Rims.....K&N superflow filter....Hamann E36 Exhaust.....Mtech body kit with a Rieger M E46 bumper.....E46 M original Electrical folding up mirriors.... The instructions are excellent and the kit includes everything you could possibly need. It's a PITA, but if you take your time it is a great way to learn about your car and how and where everything is. Highly recommend doing it yourself. Honestly it's pretty hard to screw up as long as you follow the instructions. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
