Has anyone done this before? It appears that I might have to remove the heater closing panel to get it out. But I didn't want to do that unless it was necessary. Can anyone let me know for sure? | | | 05-17-2010, 06:29 AM | #2 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Hey Dave, I removed mine when I was removing the starter on my clubsport. IIRC, I didn't have to remove anything. IIRC it's just 1 bolt going through a bracket and then it's held into the oil pan with an o-ring, just pull it straight out. here you go: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...59&hg=11&fg=10 Make sure you stuff a twisted paper towel or rag into that hole while you have the tube removed so nothing falls in there. Why are you removing it? It seems like it has to be rotated to come out. And the place where it doesn't run into anything on the engine, it runs into the heater closing panel. I guess I'll wrestle with it some more. Thanks Jess. | | | 05-18-2010, 04:59 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | It worked! Its out! I could slide it out by rotating it just forward of the brake reservoir. Thanks again Jess. | | | 05-22-2010, 04:47 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Make sure you got the o-ring out too? Look on the tube and ensure it is there. How do I adjust it so it will come all the way out? I need to get the starter out and its blocking the way. | | | 02-24-2014, 10:20 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: mill creek , WA Posts: 35 | turned it I was able to turn it a bit and it came out most of the way (not all). Enough to do my starter! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
