Pay and benefits are really good. Located about 2 blocks from my house, takes less than 30 seconds to get to work. The goal, save 100k in two years, purchase new home in 4-5 years. | | | 03-10-2013, 02:27 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | *LIKE* __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-10-2013, 03:36 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | Awesome goal !!! Been watching the housing market closely for the past year or so. Probably going to try to stay in or near Ventura for work. I am eligible for the VA loan, so if the market starts to rise, I may buy a couple years early. The savings goal is more of a safety net since I have a history of making poor life decisions and will likely remain single for life, lol. | | | 03-12-2013, 09:52 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Ottawa, ON Posts: 108 | That's what hands for! Plus they're always by your side through thick or thin. Grats on the job jess! __________________ The only time I look forward to a red light is to read a text | | | 03-13-2013, 04:40 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 ...and will likely remain single for life, lol. | Good to hear that you be always be able to prioritize your car hobby without question! Congrats on the new gig, Jess- I fear that I'm just about to fall into the opposite situation, so I'm going to need to dial back some of my car plans for the foreseeable future. __________________ 1995 318ti Base - Cosmosschwarz/Sandgrau R.I.P. 1997 318ti Active - Alpinweiß III/Sandgrau 2013 328i Coupe - Le Mans Blau | | | 03-13-2013, 05:00 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 Thanks guys! I would offer to take the entire project off your hands, but I have discovered my next project which I plan to attack this summer.... Details will follow soon.. Anyway, Jesse, I (and no one else) have neglected to ask, what career path are you taking? I know the art project was one of your desired paths, but it doesn't sound like that is where you are headed for the short term. Hopefully, that doesn't get pushed too far away while you achieve your current goals. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. The fountain business is still a doable venture, especially since this job gives me 3 days off each week. I'll PM you with more details about the job, but I'm simply working as a maintenance technician on some pretty sophisticated machinery. The job was right up my alley though. I get to use my welding, machining, wrenching and electrical skills. | | | 03-13-2013, 12:03 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | I need to go back to the golf industry. This job I have is a total waste of my time. At least at the golf course I would have a mixed bag of tasks that test my technical skills. I envy your current career Jesse...it sounds perfect. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 03-13-2013, 11:33 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | Working Man Blues Hey Congrats Jess, Welcome to the working class.
