And a price tag. Base on those is $34,915. At that point I'm way past the 128 and close enough to the 135 to drop the extra $1k for that. I'll probaby get flamed for this, but the A3 looks better to me than 1er. Especially the hatchback (I know, we're not getting it) version. Since I have no plan whatsoever to get rid of my ti, I'm thinking I might just pick up a WRX that's a couple of years old. I could buy it, modify it like I want, and still probably have 10k left over compared to buying an A3 or a 1er. Or maybe I'll just DASC and Nick G the ti. Or pay off the wife's student loans . | | | 11-16-2007, 03:47 PM | #32 | doesn't care about you. I saw a bazillion of them in Amsterdamn and got over it. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 11-16-2007, 05:27 PM | #33 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Seattle, WA Posts: 402 | This is the 130i 5 door, M Sport Packet. Seems okay to me. I've seen them modified to look pretty darned good. The stock, non-sport look bland to me, but plain-jane cars normally look blah to me anyway (without a sport package, or body kit -only if not over the top). __________________ 1997 332ti - Don't even ask. 2006 330i - ZPP/ZSP/ZCW/6sp/Nav/BT/H&R Sport 2011 E92 M3 | | | 11-16-2007, 05:54 PM | #34 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | i would just be happy if the tii appeared in my garage overnight! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 11-16-2007, 07:37 PM | #35 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | I'm really curious to learn what engine would be in that if they actually produced it. | | | 11-16-2007, 07:52 PM | #36 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | ya me too! i love the backwards tii so people in front of you can see it in their mirrors __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 11-16-2007, 10:49 PM | #37 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: chicago Posts: 172 | i think the a3 looks better than the 1er, but i'm willing to bet it doesn't drive as well. i thought they should have brought the first gen a3/s3 over instead of trying to market the r32 golf as a $30k+ car at the time. a proper s3 1.8t maybe. in fact, last gen vw just messed everything up for themselves by trying to sell weird high ends like the phaeton and toureg (as nice as they might have been), hurting audi image/sales, and now they're trying to re-adjust to their bread and butter, the young golf/jetta crowd. i'm just glad bmw doesn't have a lame german scientist trying to sell a car to me. | | | 11-17-2007, 02:20 AM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Seattle, WA Posts: 402 | I've had a rental A3 2.0l turbodeisel with sports package/6sp in Germany, earlier this year. That car was a pretty fun car, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing (///) signs and planting foot for as long as I could. It never seemed to hit a rev or speed limiter, but obviously couldn't go faster than ~210kph (130mph), but it was rock solid. Pretty fun on secondary roads too, which are twisty and undulating. __________________ 1997 332ti - Don't even ask. 2006 330i - ZPP/ZSP/ZCW/6sp/Nav/BT/H&R Sport 2011 E92 M3 | | | 11-17-2007, 08:12 PM | #39 | doesn't care about you. The people we were staying with had the same car and swore up and down that it was limited to 200, I showed him otherwise. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 11-27-2007, 12:31 AM | #40 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: G-dale, California Posts: 1,698 | does anyone know if the tii will be produced as an option? my parents are willing to help me pay for a 135 just because after the car show they fell in love...but if im going to pay that much might as well pay a little more and get the tii __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 12-15-2007, 02:32 AM | #41 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | Date of release, package and single options prices Ok, so I just got a copy of the official date it will be available and the package and options price. It can pay for a pretty decent week-long vacation for two driving around the autobahn at legal 140mph speeds. That alone is pretty priceless. __________________ 1997 332ti - Don't even ask. 2006 330i - ZPP/ZSP/ZCW/6sp/Nav/BT/H&R Sport 2011 E92 M3 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
