Default looked at a 318 in burgandy

and it was a total pile. its in south river NJ. exit 9 off the turnpike. im just curious to see if it has flood damage or something. can somebody please run a carfax for me? they wanted 3000 for it with 170000 miles. its got the sport package and nice interior. but the radio is all messed up... the door panel is broken. the doors dont open or close correclty. the keyless system is all messed up. its got a strange idle and the AC doesnt blow cold. the rear hatch wont open. no brake lights work when stepping on the brake. fogs dont work.... the wiring is sooooo messed up its crazy. and its all rusty on the bottom. can somebody just please check the vin. it has to have some kind of salvage title or something.

The person must be crazy if they're asking $3,000 for it. It sounds like he would be lucky to get $1,000 out of it...

Sorry, no Carfax for me.

yeah hes def. crazy. while i was there another "sales person " came in and was liek whos buying this piece of **** while im right there. hah. the interior is so nice, i want those seats. but the rest of the car is uhmm.... crap. there were wires everywhere in the engine bay. i dont know what they were trying to do but they did a pretty bad job of it. i wish the car was mint. i would loe to have a burgandy 318 with the sports package. oh well. im going to have to settle for an active edition. its a 96 with 100,000 miles. its really nice though. now just gota get 5 grand together. if anybody could do that carfax it would be great. im really curious to see whats wrong with it.

I just saw the ad on Craigslist for this car, and I was thinking about going over and taking a look. I guess I wont. Just a little off topic, are there 318ti's that go for around 3K, or are they all more? I'm looking to spend around 3K on a car now.

i dont think you should even waste your time going there. it was sketchy from the beginning. a lot of the TI's ive been looking at were ranged from 4-6000. but im sure you can find something decent for about 4,000. look up the carfax on anything your thinking about buying. it would suck to get screwed over with a flood car or a salvage car. hopefully i get something soon. good luck.

Thanks. From your description, its definitely not a car I would want. I'll keep a lookout for a 3K or so 318ti

Car sold for 2000.00 its in my garage, after I ganked all the yo, yo, yo pimp my rod crap out of it, its not so bad, fixed the latches (doors were straight, thank the gods of BMW). no signs of major impact, got sensor, cleared the Check engine light. Now I need a radio and some speakers, calipers, rear axles, center grille for M3 bumper. Corosions not as bad as it looked, Runs strong, drove it to South Jersey 34.5 MPG, beats the crap out of my 530i w/v8 cost me $30.00 just to get to south river.

Yes, the guys were shady. Anybody get that VIN checked?
