Default uk ti build thread

thought id post up a progress of my e36 compact build bought the car 6 months ago as a bog standard 316i with the later 1.9 engine spent ages looking for a clean one and this had to be seen to be believed looked like a new car apart from a tiny dink in the drivers door! bought some very cheap contours (not oem these are 8x17 et35 all round silver centres with polished dishes) looked like this when i got them after a bit of hard work they looked like this whacked them on with some new tyres and debadged the 316i from the bootlid next i fitted some coilovers, satin black kidney grilles, smoked indicators and side repeaters and pressed plates then came clear m-tech rear lights, carbon bmw badges, stainless exhaust and m-power plate surround

then this happened

m3 front bumper, mesh bumper grille, evo splitter, us spec number plate recess, american import size front plate, m-tech rear bumper, m-tech deeper side rubbing strips and rare oem m-tech boot spoiler. havnt had chance to fit the spoiler yet but should be going on this weekend

then modded the interior a little bit m3 tri-stiched steering wheel ac schnitzer gearknob oem bmw rubber floor mats kenwood ipod headunit vibe amp and 12" sub snap-on seat cover wheel whores airfreshner

and a few pics of my previous show car that i built it's a 2005 peugeot 206 gti 180 with the gt wrc style kit and lots of other subtle modifications

any comments/suggestions good or bad welcome

Looking good!

Though i prefer the simplistic look of the contours.

Whats the plan for power? ?

Also what kind of coilovers did you use?

thanks
the contours will possibly be making a return with a bit better stance and some slimmer tyres after the winter once iv refinished them
the coilovers are just cheap jom ones although the ride is pretty decent to be fair.
Powerwise just the exhaust at the moment it just has the lousy 1.9 105hp engine and after coming from a 200hp hot hatch its taking a bit of getting used to but it was bought for the fuel economy which is great. hopefully when my circumstances change over the next 12 months and i dont need it to commute as far i can look into sticking a 2.3 or 2.8 6 pot in it

That would be nice, as long as you don't expect it to be fast it will do just fine, I got mine a exhaust and some other small things, thought it might make it faster, nope! then I was frustrated, but once I remembered that it was still a M44 and just to have fun with it as it is, it was a lot easier to enjoy.

Keep up the work!
