Hey all. I was just wondering how fast you have hit with your ti. Stock motor or not. Now I don't recommend street racing or anything insane. With no traffic around, and an open stretch of highway, you can let it loose a lil bit. Or a lot ha. Lets hear it! Measured with GPS and proven by a tire/transmission-calculator. The engine is a modified M52B28 (M50 Manifold, individual ECU optimization), max rpm is 7000 and the rear axle transmission is a Z3 2.8i with a 3.15:1 gear ratio. | | | 01-04-2011, 10:07 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Quote: Originally Posted by slow_ti I thought we were governed at 116? Very sad since my country squire easily hits 125. And my protege5 will do the same. __________________ No more ti. | | | 01-05-2011, 12:25 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Bamberg, Germany Posts: 107 | I hit 120mph on the Autobahn today | | | 01-05-2011, 03:26 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I got mine up to the top speed once, it said 120 on the speedo but I don't think it's that accurate at those kinds of speeds | | | 01-05-2011, 03:48 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | Quote: Originally Posted by airborneSGT I hit 120mph on the Autobahn today | If that's because of the U.S. speed limiter, would you like to get rid of that for when you are on H+-rated tires? | | | 01-05-2011, 04:05 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by John Firestone If that's because of the U.S. speed limiter, would you like to get rid of that for when you are on H+-rated tires? | I've done 140+ on non speed rated Kelly truck tires...It'll be fine. __________________ No more ti. | | | 01-05-2011, 04:10 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: OR, USA Posts: 61 | I'v done 125ish+ (maybe 130 once, but it took a little while) on the empty freeway at, like, 1 in the morning on my way home form work. (back when I was on swing) ti is now sitting in the back of the heli-shop where my dad works, (his boss is super cool) I'm putting the s50b30 in, but it'll be a while till I get it all up and running, mostly 'cause of a lack of funds lol. But hopefully by the end of this month, 318ti -> 330ti (am I right?) __________________ =F.N.B.= /!\CAUTION/!\ Low Flying Engines | | | 01-05-2011, 08:41 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Bamberg, Germany Posts: 107 | @John - yes I would like to get rid of that! All others, trust me here in Germany you want to have the tires rated for the speed you are going. If you cause an accident or get into an accident and they find your equipment at fault (aka you didnt have the correct tires) then you will be finned. | | | 01-05-2011, 09:09 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Fürth, Bavaria, Germany Posts: 156 | Manny, the speed limitations for the tires are not a problem here in germany. You just have to put a sticker with the allowed tire speed somewhere in your field of vision And if they can´t prove that you were driving faster than the allowed tire speed you are out of trouble. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
