I'm considering changing out my seats because I want bigger bolsters so I don't slide around all the time in turns. Here are my choices (all used): - M3 Vaders (manual): $500 - Recaro SE (manual): $450 - M3 luxury package (powered): $495 I'm leaning toward the Vaders or Recaros, because I'm not sure if I can hook up the power to the M3 luxury seats, but I'm still not decided. So, I want to see what others think. And regardless of the ones I get, I'm probably going to have to get them re-upholstered, so that's an added expense. __________________ moku 1996 318ti Cali Top w/ Downing/Atlanta Supercharger 2003 M3 w/ CSL trunk, splitters, & diffuser | | | 05-30-2006, 09:19 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Potomac, Maryland Posts: 230 | id totally get the new seats that came in the new M5 that when u seatbelted in, it hugged you.... you know which ones im talkin? that'd be sweet if those fit in our cars... | | | 05-30-2006, 09:50 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | Quote: Originally Posted by nusstroy id totally get the new seats that came in the new M5 that when u seatbelted in, it hugged you.... you know which ones im talkin? that'd be sweet if those fit in our cars... | hahaha those seats are cool... Although a nice two tone recaro seat would look damn good in a ti. Alaskablue's seats look nice, just not my choice of color. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 05-31-2006, 01:49 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Williamsburg, VA Posts: 91 | I hate powered stuff. In general, it's heavier and more prone to breaking. I go manual (windows, seats, whatever) whenever I am able to choose. | | | 05-31-2006, 02:03 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Muncie, Indiana Posts: 1,551 | I picked the recaros. I'm still undecided, but I guess my final decision is going to be dependant on which seats are available at the time I can buy them. __________________ moku 1996 318ti Cali Top w/ Downing/Atlanta Supercharger 2003 M3 w/ CSL trunk, splitters, & diffuser | | | 06-02-2006, 03:20 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Central PA Posts: 96 | Seats My 98 ti sport has black leather with gray suede inserts where the cloth would be...the shift boot, ebrake boot and door inserts are also suede. Was this stock or was it an aftermarket custom install. It looks stock. | | | 06-02-2006, 04:35 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Berkeley, CA Posts: 411 | Arent the power ones exactly the same as the manual sport seats, just electric? Personally I love sports seats with cloth middle. Really grips. But I havent drove a car with the Vaders. Love the look. If they grip your bum, then the vaders. If you slide at all, go with manual sport seats. When I whip it around the corners, my butt doesnt move. Love the vaders but do they GRIP you? Not hold you in place so you cant move but just the grip, but that has to do with the cloth I guess... __________________ I'm back with a different 95 ti | | | 06-16-2006, 05:59 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | I picked the recaros but it was close between the vaders because I would want leather. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-16-2006, 07:41 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | Recaro all the way. I had a set back in my Isuzu days and they were by far the most comfortable and supportive seats I have been in. | | | 06-16-2006, 08:25 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | Quote: Originally Posted by GDB Recaro all the way.
