Default Newbie from MA saying hi!

Wie Gehts, Alles!

I've read fervently here for about 3 weeks now after buying a fellow 318ti.org'ers 332ti. I'm loving this car so far. It's a hell of a sleeper, and I've already done one autocross with it.

I have a 2006 e90 330i 6sp sport, that I did European delivery on in May 2005 on the first US production week, that is my daily driver. Before that, I had:
  • 2002 330i 5sp sport
  • 1999 323i 5sp sport
  • 1996 328i 5sp sport
  • 1992 325i slushie non-sport (don't ask, was commuting into Boston every day and thought it was a good idea - I was wrong)
  • 1986 325es 5sp sport
  • a couple 80's Ford F150s

I was fortunate enough to have bought all of the bimmers new, and if I had a chance to have any back, I'd take the e30. It was pristine looking, ran incredibly, and had 192000 miles on it (original clutch) when I traded it in for my first e36. That 325es rocked. The 'ti is the closest thing I have driven to it.

I currently chair the Boston Chapter BMWCCA Autocross events, and have been addicted to autocrossing for the better part of a decade. I do track events, but nowhere near as much, but am doing a repeat a family vacation to le Circuit Tremblant, for a 3 day DE and 5 days of R&R. If you ever get a chance to either drive the circuit or stay at the resort - DO IT!!

Anyway, you'll see me posting here occasionally, where I feel I'm adding to a conversation. I really like what I've read so far, and already fixed a leaking Cali roof (both the drains were crushed flat on the floor pan, and the front corners seals needed some silicone work with a syringe - all thanks to reading here). I have a new LSD that's going in (hopefully) this weekend, again after getting info from here, and I plan to replace the Bilsteins with Koni adjustables at the same time as the diff swap. I'm definitely a DIY grease monkey and have been known to have tech/detail sessions at the hacienda. (tech session = beer drinking while laying under a car with 10 other bimmer friends hanging around)

I hope to meet some of you at a future Boston area meet! Also, if any of you want to come to one of the Boston Chapter autocrosses, let me know! It's fun to just be a spectator, and even more fun to participate in. Next event is a week from this Saturday.

Looking forward to reading and learning more.

What's going on BMW veteran! I'm the newbie. My first Bimmer is my 1997 318ti with the Cali roof, which leaked once, but hasn't since.

Welcome.
