Default 318ti or the 318ise coupe??

im 22 been drivig 3 months and am lookingfor my next car, was looing at the e36 318ise coupe but now im looking at the 318ti instead, also my pal said i will get a better 318ti for the money i want to spend than i wud a 318ise. im looking to spend around £1500, ive seen both these models selling from £1000 in the uk,
ive found a 318ti, M reg 1995, fully loaded, excellent condition, 5 months mot and tax the guy has put it up for £1295.good price yes??
i could easily pick up a 318ise or this.
i have a work van so this will be pretty much a weekend car im looking to drift my new car, how does the compact differ to the coupe for drifting?? i will also be doing some motor way driving in it and just around town.
also the steering postion isnt adjustable in the compact i have read, will i be confortable driving this as im 6 foot 2"??
im going to view the 95 318ti this week, is there any probs i shud look out for??
is there any other u know that u cud help me out with, thanks

I can't help you with the ti market over in the UK, but you won't have any problems with the seating position. I'm also 6'2" and am very comfortable in my car. Also, the seat was a faily good range or adjustability, so it's easy to get yourself into a good driving position.

Neither car would be a good drifter without boost or m3 swap. They can be drifted stock. they do good in high speed corners by just overdriving it, but in lower speeds there just is not enough power to carry your speed. I qualifed 12th out of 24 cars at Charlotte in 2004 but would have had no chance in tandems.

The M42 (early engine) is a 1.8 liter, whereas the M44 (late engine) is a 1.9 liter. As you already know, the M44 has a bit more torque but that's it. AS far as I know, there aren't really any common faults with these engines; they're pretty bulletproof.
