Default ti VIN locations?

I'm an E34 owner who is tired of driving my beast, and looking to downsize. The ti appeals to me. I've done some research, and to-day, looked over my first candidate, which led a much rougher life than I would have liked, so I passed.
However, something caught my eye, or rather, very much did not catch my eye, and it's this...

My E30 and my E34 are festooned with VIN stickers. Hood, fenders, doors, trunk lid, as well as the driver's B pillar and up on the dash. And god knows where else that I can't see.
The '97 ti (Active) that I looked at today only had the B pillar, dashboard and front fender VINs. I took this to be a Bad Sign, given the overall rough condition of the car. For all I know, though, that was normal for a ti. I know that there are original and replacement part stickers, but this car mostly had neither. The owner, a Top-Dollar Johnny's Kwality Used Kars sort of joint, had no clue or history for the car.
A forum search hasn't been a help on this so far. My question then for you folks, who know more about this platform than me, is where should I legitimately expect to find VINs on a 318ti?

thanks much-very helpful site!

you should see one on the driver's side dashboard(you can see if you are outside the car looking down at the windshield closest to the wiperblade. There should be one on the inside of the driver's door. There is also one on the passenger side front fender. You have to pop the hood and look in between the rubber seal and the top of the fender. It is a small sticker. Those are the only ones I know of from the top of my head. Maybe if you gave someone on here the Vin number to the car they could look it up for you and get the history of the car.

I wouldn't be concerned unless there were no VINs anywhere on the car, I know there is no trunk lid VIN, probably because the inside of the hatch has plastic instead of bare metal
