Crazy prices folks. Still had close to 100 miles left with the remaining; this is estimated since I had about 350 miles showing for the previous tank. __________________ 2005 Steel Blue 325ia: Upgrades/Mods: Lots. 1996 Alpine White: 318ti: Dinan Stage 1 Software. The '03 coupe had 40K and my ti has 155K, but still...my ti still does not use any oil, and runs perfect. Is the older 4 spd overdrive automatic trans that in-efficient? Mine works great too, shifts positive, etc. Hell, our '08 X-3 does that good.......??????? Mmmmmmm. Oh. What I did to car today. Washed the mud off it from previous rains.... __________________ Love ALL Bimmers. This is a great excuse to buy that set of Riken Touring tires I've had my eye on. | | | 04-16-2011, 04:53 AM | #1146 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | I moved the battery to the hatch in my S52-swapped ti. I used the battery cable from a 328, an Odyssey PC680, a distribution block from a junkyard car, and cooljess's excellent write-up. | | | 04-16-2011, 06:13 AM | #1147 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mopho What I don't get, is my wife's 2003 325ci Sports coupe got 31.5 mpg on the last trip we took to Pismo Beach (central CA) and the best I can get with my Green Meanie ('96 ti) is 24-25 mpg. I should also mention the S52 has over 200K on it and the M44 has almost 140K exactly... __________________ 96 Schwartz II 318ti M-Sport with M44 *SOLD* 95 Hellrot Red 318ti with S52 Swap (Mine) 94 Boston Green 325i Saloon with M50TU (Hers) 68 White VW Bus Camper (Parts Bus) 71 Pink VW Bus Westfalia (The fixer upper) | | | 04-17-2011, 02:45 PM | #1148 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Milford, NH Posts: 150 | Suspension rebuild started in earnest yesterday using the Bilstein/H&R Sport kit from Turner Motorsports. Thanks to a friend & fellow member here on the board the front is mostly done. The plan for today is to tackle replacing the tier rod assemblies and the rear shocks & springs. | | | 04-17-2011, 09:35 PM | #1149 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Scotland. Posts: 17 | All standard stuff used, but today I ... Changed Front disks and pads, rear disks, pads and shoes, fitted new rear brake protection plates. New rear shocks and shock mounts. New Boot/trunk struts. Rocker cover gasket, new plugs, and an oil and filter change. This evening I wil be having a rest, lol. | | | 04-17-2011, 10:15 PM | #1150 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I had a Hawker Odyessy 925PCMJ Battery in my TI. I had taken it out of my old car and dropped it into the TI when I got it. I have had it since 1994 and it finally died over the winter when my car was sitting in my garage. PCMJ 925 next to the PC680 I replaced it with. Lighter, Smaller, and while less powerful, only 20ccas beneath what the TI requires stock. | | | 04-18-2011, 03:49 PM | #1151 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | I have the same battery in my trunk, starts my s52 just fine. Yesterday I got my Joni sports installed, the car doesn't bottom out any more! __________________ 96 Schwartz II 318ti M-Sport with M44 *SOLD* 95 Hellrot Red 318ti with S52 Swap (Mine) 94 Boston Green 325i Saloon with M50TU (Hers) 68 White VW Bus Camper (Parts Bus) 71 Pink VW Bus Westfalia (The fixer upper) | | | 04-18-2011, 06:29 PM | #1152 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I got the black textured mount for it. It is mounted in the stock location.. just laying on it's side so it is barely noticible. Next is new tyres, an O2 sensor (I broke the pre-cat 02 sensor replacing the midpipe) and a front strut bar | | | 04-18-2011, 06:46 PM | #1153 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Scranton/Wilkes-barre area PA Posts: 454 | Quote: Originally Posted by kuleinc The GM autotragics are THAT bad, I get 22 MPGs in my S52 swapped TI with 5 speed manual (diff is lower geared than the auto car too) and I get 23-24 in my M44 powered TI with GM Autotragic box... | Is there another auto transmission that fits our cars that get better gas millage than the GM ones? __________________ ***Derek*** ^^Lola^^ Pioneer radio/ Pioneer 6-Disk CD Changer/ JBL 601.1 Grand Touring Amplifier/ Bilstein Sport shocks/ Bilstein e36sedan springs/ Green LED Courtesy Lights Accident Counter: 3... My 03 325 has the vanos cam system, and even though it is 2.5 L it is very efficient. Would be nice if a newer 5 or 6 speed auto was available...and yes, the ti motors are a Volkswagon design. __________________ Love ALL Bimmers.
