Hi everybody. The records indicated that I'd not posted. And suggested that I start here, by saying hello. So hello. My name is Ryan, and I love my Alaska Blue Metallic 318ti. Drove the crap out of it for 2 1/2 years with all your help, before setting it into the garage at 151,000 miles, covered in paint chips, broken m-technic front bumper, busted windshield, broken doorhandles and mis-aligned window motors. I know. I'm sorry. But I am totally keeping it, till I can atone for my sins with a makeover. Anyhoo, so here I am. And I can say that a 318ti hatchback is the most pleasant college roundabout. Oh yea, and it is a great college car. Take care. I'm in grad school, do I still get to join? . Steven M. | | | 08-27-2006, 09:21 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 5 | I promise, I'll bring her back from the brink. I have to admit, I was going to trade her in (after all, I'm a college student, and don't have lots of spare garage space...) but at the last minute, in that final hour of decision, my papa decided to get on the BMW train. So he bought one, and when I told him that I was offered 500 dollars in trade for my hard-working hatch, his heart opened to my poor 318's plight, and he offered up a place. I plan on doing the M3 motor/tranny swap, and turning my college go-getter into a Honda Civic crunch-n-muncher. It's like riding a mule through the desert, almost killing it, then ressurecting it as a stallion. I can't wait, and I hope you folks can help me not make stupid decisions. Thanks for all the love already. This has got to be one of the more enjoyable BMW communities. | | | 08-27-2006, 11:31 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 456 | yep. college. great car. __________________ SPEED IS NOT AN EQUATION CONSISTING OF DISTANCE DIVIDED BY TIME.
