I haven't done anything to it anyway. There's an Autronic CDI stashed behind it, and a boost gauge in one of the vents. As far as I know, it's a stock ti dash. When I watch the video I thought: it doesn't look that fast. You want to see fast, check out the guy who's been working with me on my car. This is his e30: Also wanted to update a little something I forgot to say before: When I was pulling the head off, I didn't see any issue with the head gasket. So I'm pretty confident in the ARP2000's when I reuse them. Coolant was the same level as it's always been since filling in last year. | | | 06-25-2010, 12:46 AM | #63 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by bubela I don't think anything's been done to the dash. It has air bags and is running on megasquirt. He's nuts. The motor is in, and I'm 95% done. I installed a thermocouple in the #6 cylinder exhaust tube. I'm moving the Autronic analyzer sensor to a new location closer to the turbo and using the old location for the new o2 sensor. Still need to wire all that up. My buddy said I need new charge pipe from my turbo to intercooler. So that shall be done before it gets fired up as well. Side note: I pulled out my oil pressure sender and uncorked a piece of teflon tape. Maybe that's why my pressure gauge wasn't working? | | | 08-25-2010, 08:11 PM | #67 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | FYI, that bug is going to be shot for a magazine sometime soon. I'll get some details for you. I'm 99% done now. Waiting on a friend to come over then we'll fire it up. I have very minor detail stuff now. MY new EGR/AFR display is installed. New bung welded in for the Autronic analyzer/installed. SS charge pipe is made/installed. Pretty damn excited about firing this up for the first time. Also.. just thought I'd mention that a 275/40R17 MT drag radial fits on the back of our cars. NUTS! | How'd you do that? Widest I can fit without rubbing are 245s. | | | 08-26-2010, 11:24 AM | #70 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | I rolled the fenders with a pipe when I had 255's on it. I also have a 9" wide wheel. Not sure what the offset is, but it clears the spring tower. It's a little close to the spare wheel well. Might trim that up, we'll see. I'm definitely more "go" than "show" with this car. Whatever it takes to go fast, I'll do! | | | 08-26-2010, 01:47 PM | #71 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | Quote: Originally Posted by bubela I rolled the fenders with a pipe when I had 255's on it. Tractions an issue for us as you probably know lols Last edited by RAiMA; 08-26-2010 at 02:01 PM. | | | 08-26-2010, 02:37 PM | #72 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | | | | 08-27-2010, 01:33 AM | #73 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | Wow, thanks for the pics!
