I'm not cocky I picked up a great car built by someone that put a lot of time and thought into this car. Someday when I have the time to properly research and execute it I'll swap in an S50 or S52 with either cams or a s/c then I'll get a little cocky but until then I'll enjoy driving a modest looking fun car.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but $10k isn't going to get you far into a turbo s50 swap. I'd set aside $5-7k for the engine swap (to do it right) and another $10k to add the turbo (and do it right). FI and BMW = $$$$$$

+1 with DunstenT! Need more research on the other bimmer forums like bfc. It takes more $$$ to mod a bimmer than the japanese rides.

hey pollo loco. im only messing. that car you picked up, im sure its nicely built already. im just giving u a hard time. lol. im just wanting that kind of engine mod. but eh, ill get there some day. im not doing any or much mods to my engine now since i plan in the future to just do the swap.
i figure i can hopefully find an M3 crashed, damaged, or by someone getting rid of it. do the swap and part out the parts i dont need (which wouldnt be much). take another few years and do some type of FI. its a hobby that'll take a while to complete which is a good thing. i wouldnt get bored too easily, like some member on this forum that complains (ahem ahem gar ahem) lol.
but like dusten and stealth said. im sure it takes lots of money and time and patience to do it all RIGHT. which is the only way to get a nice looking quick bimmer that'll be stealth. when the time comes, ill be coming on here to do the S52. until then, ill have to enjoy my slower Ti for now.

I know Marv thats cool. I just dont want anyone to think I'm cocky. I'm the new guy here.

I have to find a gas pedal ASAP. I broke mine on the drive home last night. dealership wants $55 for one, Pelican $34, but I might be able to pick up a sparco pedal set for $30. Can you pick parts up directly from Pelicans warehouse in El Segundo?

yeah I busted it at the top where it pivots on the accelerator. I ordered a new pedal from pelican it should be near next week. I can still drive, it just has a very very small accelerator. I didn’t buy a museum piece I bought a drivers car. Dusten was very up front about everything with the car and I haven’t found anything that was a surprise. If you’re not breaking/fixing/replacing something you’re not driving hard enough. I'm not beating on the car I'm just doing what it was built for. I drove 200+ miles today, down to LB then up to Mt. Baldy.
