No there are 2 screws under that trim piece above the plate. It's where the button is to open the hatch,the foot long piece comes off once the screws are removed. Once thats done the lights pop out light the side markers. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active

replace the OEM bulbs with xenon bulbs. It makes for a nice subtle touch
