Maximum torque for a 12.9 grade bolt is 64 lb-ft. ARP may have a bolt with superior mechanical properties because they say the can go to 70 lb-ft. Going higher will just stretch the bolt more. They seem to be hit or miss as to sealing to aluminum heads. Just my experience... The cars only have 10:1 and running a standard webber. We switched back to a factory gasket as well. Unfortunately NISMO dropped their comp one that fit our older engines. This would also explain head bolts that are loose. Those head bolts stretched when the head picked up off the block. No head gasket on our motors will last if you're stretching bolts and lifting the head. We might need to O-Ring the block if there is enough room between the cylinders? I don't use any bolts on the head that stretch I Use modified M3 bolts that are reusable so there is no stretch factored into torqueing the bolts. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
