Default 1998 S52 ti

Buy now price a bit optimistic considering how many miles on chassis and motor. Seems silly to put in heavy electric seats, although I always wanted a set.

It is nice. I really can't find much to fault.
Doesn't mention the diff and transmission, does it?
I still don't understand why people use those Hot Air Intakes.

Hello,

This is my first post, and I registered specifically to ask about ur opinion on this car. This car is apparently back up for auction, and I am seriously interested in it, but I am located in NJ and it's very difficult to view and drive the car prior to bidding. What are some things to watch out for in a 318ti? Does anyone know anything about this specific car? Anyone seen or driven it? Can anyone vouch for German Motor Werks? What is a fair price for something like this? How would u go about completing an out of state transaction? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Tony

i noticed the shifter has 5spd
I cant imagine anyone doing the s52 swap without throwing a 6spd in
I cant imagine anyone who is actually going to do a 6spd s52 swap just leaving the knob that only has 5 icons.
It makes me suspicious about the quality of the work that was done on the swap.

Yeah...the E36 M3 doesn't have a 6spd, at least not in the US. To do a Euro 6spd swap costs close to $5000. So I'm not really sure why you would be suspicious of the work if it's a US S52.

+1 I mean I would love another gear and all, but the trans would cost more than my entire swap and most of the chassis I used.

+2 A 6spd would be nice but definately not worth it in costs.

Any other thoughts on this particular car, other than the 6 speed tranny? Has anyone dealt directly with German Motor Werks or have seen this car?

Thanks
