While I agree with that show being crappy, I don't think it's all BMW owners (I do know we drive the outcasts ). Just my .02, I'd be more likely to make a weekend out of it for a big show vs a 8-10 car meet, though I'd love to put some faces to your guys names. I work alot in the summer, and live at the beach so it's tough to convince myself to drive 5+hrs for anything. I'll probably be hitting the beach as much as possible, this is my last summer before I hit the real world Edit: I used to go to Carlisle All Truck Nationals in PA every year in my truck (IH Scout built for wheeling), and with all the jeeps/blazers/broncos/lowriders I was just as much of an oddball, though most people looked at it in a good way. We always had a section for our club to park, and it worked out real well hanging out but being able to go wander and check out different trucks. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. I wouldn't mind going to a bigger show but I'd like to keep the original idea and have a ti specific meet. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 01-31-2011, 03:02 AM | #50 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Personally I'm not up to going to MD. I left 3-4 years ago and don't intend to return. Except maybe for the Baltimore GP. The further away from the Capital Beltway, the better I am off. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-31-2011, 08:03 AM | #51 | Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Northern Va Posts: 42 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 It's even worse if you're in the military. Didn't serve time but glad the Navy took me off the road to ummm "grow up" since I was haze grey and underway most of the time. | | | 02-03-2011, 05:28 AM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | So... we have all these ideas, which is great but we need to start narrowing it down so we have something concrete that people can plan around. I'm coming from central Florida, the furthest I would probably drive would be 8 hours or so, if we did something like Savannah I would likely show up with more than one car. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! Some more I know who haven't posted too. I've narrowed it down to two locations VA Beach or Savannah, GA. Williamsburg/VA Beach seems ideal to be central for the bulk of us, Dahamler has offered us all hospitality if we decide on Savannah/Hilton Head. I would love to drive to either, but we have to consider being ideal with the given time frame and give time for unknowns. For this reason I vote VA Beach, also given its central. Anyone who lives in that area who may be able to offer hospitality? The ideal trip will be a weekend event, going home on the Sunday. We need to organize convoy groups for those who are nearby to one another. For example, Spidertri, myself, and whoever else is remotely close will convoy together. Same for you NY/NJ guys unless you're cool with riding alone (which can be pretty boring). I want to make the drive fun too, not just the meet. Cast your vote on the poll up top, and then we'll go from there. When we decide everything, I'll create a new thread to post the actual location, date, and contact information. Williamsburg VA is more centrally located. Either location would be great! __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-03-2011, 02:11 PM | #55 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Reading, PA Posts: 140 | as long as its not 400 degrees in savannah/hilton head im good with that, especially since we already have hook-ups down there | | | 02-06-2011, 04:16 AM | #56 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | bump for more votes. Iv only had my ti for about a year now and haven't been to any meets with any other ti's.. I'm from philly but also have a house in Virginia. Id be willing do drive about 8 hours to go to a meet, that seams to be kind of reasonable and it looks like a few other people agree. Williamsburg va is a awesome and beautiful place. Iv never been to georgia but I'd be willing to give it a try.
