Default While my junk is disassembled...

Okay, so the head is off and the block/cylinders are cleaning up quite nicely.
I guess the next big step is to send the head off to a machine shop...one that is able to deal with BMWs and their fragile cams. But, that's probably going to be a while.
I'm looking for suggestions as far as what else I should do while I have the easy opportunity. For example, I read somewhere about replacing the plastic thermostat housing (which I broke during removal anyways) with an aluminum one.
Any other suggestions, aside from the obvious belts, hoses, etc.?
My water pump looks good, as far as I can tell, and it has a metal impeller.
I'm still looking for some definitive evidence as to why this thing overheated in the first place. It's apparent that coolant did spray out of the radiator cap, so maybe I'll candle the plastic and see if I can find any cracks.
Or is there a better radiator that I can just replace it with and be done with it?

I know there was a company that came out with a radiator for e36's that was pretty good. I can't recall who, maybe someone else knows.

I don't think that radiator will fit. I have one in my car but I do have a couple extra cylinders.

Coleco is running an M3 radiator in his ti. I don't know if he posts here, but I know he does at bimmerforums, you may try pming him and ask him about his setup.

Maybe just a new stock radiator would be okay then. I thought there was some special aftermarket radiator that all the cool kids were using.
