Default They're Here......

While at the dealership checking on parts, my friend who works there let me know they had just unloaded three new 1 series that morning. A quick trip over to showroom and I soon had sales rep leading me out to the service area. There was a red 135i being prepped for the sale. The rep let me hop in to check it out. Gotta love that new care smell. Anyway, I took a look at the sticker...$43,000. It was the same price as the 335i passed on the way out. The salesperson pointed out the 135 was loaded and the 335 was not. True, but still a lot of money for the car in my opinion. I regret not have the sense of mind to snap a few pictures. Anyone else see them in the US yet?

+1 and I just took my name off the waiting list since I got a smoking deal on a M Roadster. I'm gald I did since I figured the 1 series fully loaded would be over 40K.

yeah, I was expecting the 1-series to be way cheaper than that, I thought it was supposed to be an intro-level car (not that it matters since I can't afford one anyways)

I see how BMW is trying to use it as their entry-level model, but I don't think the car is really worth the cost. The base price might be fairly inexpensive, but the options really add up quikly. And for being smaller than the 3-Series, they don't weigh that much less. For my money (if I could afford it), I'd go for a 3-Series.

The 135i is not an entry level car. The 128i is much cheaper, although still not an entry-level car.

BMW learned with the 318ti that they don't really have any business competing in the honda/toyota range of cars. The 1 series in my opinion is being offered for those people who want something "more" than a toyota/honda, but don't want to pay for a 3 series. Although the savings is not that much....

Still a 6,000 to 10,000 saving depending on trim and equipment.

They got them at the dealership here recently, but I heard they are not releasing these for sale just yet. They are show models for the time being.

My name is still on the list but no one has called me yet!

anyways I dont think the one series will compete with the toyotas hondas if its the size of a corolla/civic but cost 10k more!!

40k+ for the 135 puts the 128 at 30k

I just got a call from BMW. I'm going to stop down on Saturday and drive a 135 manual. Maybe I'll buy one.

Im not a fan of the 1series coupe/vert/sedan at all. Their contours just arent "right", they really shouldve changed it up or something.

IMO, the 1 series is nice looking, but lacks the sporty-ness of the Ti.

Though I'd definitely rock a 135i if I could afford it. In the meantime I may be looking into a Tc before long.

I heard that they had done the same thing with the new M3s. First ones to arrive at the dealer were the demo units and not for sale.
