Yes, and I keep watching videos to pump myself up, even started it up in the garage the other day, and revved it up a little bit!

Speaking of waiting, I wanted to post this yesterday but, as I spent so much time and energy yesterday, I couldn't possibly convince myself to update the .org!

Here's a couple pictures of how the 6 point cage install is going! Pretty happy with the way things are looking so far, but having some difficulties with it as well. May have to borrow a friends welder to finish up some of the joints!

Here's everything that happened on saturday, spent about 10 hours w/o many breaks.

^^^ Drilled holes in the floor for the main hoop to drop through once tacked the rear tubes to the main hoop.

^^^ Cutting the down tubes equally, using a piece to ensure they are both equal angles to the notches.

^^^ Notches butted to main hoop

^^^ Finished mocking up, measured a million times and used some clamps to hold everything in place, then I made the tacks on the upper tubes.

^^^ Rear tubes

^^^ Floor plates being melted into the floor!

^^^ Final Product for the night

Now to decide how to mate the door bars to the "A" pillar, I'm also thinking of doing a "Swing-Out" kit for the door bars seeing this car will be used as a daily driver (weather permitting!)

Now to scrounge up the moneys for the camber/toe plates and bushings for the rear subframe/trailing arms.

Laundry list of parts:

*** ZF Trans
*** Race Clutch *possibly the clutchnet red
*** Custom Driveshaft *will need transmission to diff measurements and output/input points
*** Driveshaft loop
*** Camber/Toe Plates
*** Trailing arm bushings
*** Power steering pump, lines and reservoir!!!

THE OFFICIAL Wishlist (not needed to get rolling, but need to be replaced soon)

*** TIRES TIRES TIRES
*** FRONT 6 cylinder H&R race springs - I'm bottoming out the 4 cyl H&R springs hard over bumps with the added 6cyl weight
*** Rear adjustable springs *** any recommendations are excepted!!

Happy internetting, I must sleeeep!

Finished up the floor plates for the main hoop tonight, looking good, only started the underside of my car on fire a handful of times!!! haha

Completed for now, I'm also gussetting the tubes to the "B" pillar at a few points as well as just above the floor plates, I will be adding joints vertically to reinforce the main hoop even more!

"Finniks" helping with the torch to heat up the floor plates so we could get them to fit into the floor better!!

Nice work! You need a few more bars I say...

Like this:

I like how tight you got the main hoop. Did you attach it to the B-pillar at all?

That's the cage I designed for my E21 a long time ago. It is very close to what the E30 DTM cars had. I wanted to tie in all the rear suspension mounts and I got them all but the diff mount. I boxed the main hoop mounts as well. I also used rectangle tube and made the seat rails part of the cage... I wanted to move with the cage, not the car, if the time ever came.

If I remember right, that cage is tied to the body in 13 places and it is only a back half cage.

I really like the idea of tying the cage to the rear subframe. It would be cool to integrate the seat mounts into the cage as well!

It's coming together very nicely so far, I'm getting very excited to see the finished product!

Is your cage DOM pipe, I'm dumb when trying to tell what the cage is made of? Nice welding and fab work putting it together. John

Yes, the cage is DOM. I'm not positive but I think it's 1 5/8" O.D.

Dang! Well it was only a matter of time with how much power you were putting down! Do you know what fix you are going to do yet?

That is a pretty impressive time! Was that with the cracked diff mount?! If I was to guess where hatchgrafix is at, I would say he is probably riding a wheelie down a walking path on his supermoto! LOL
