Sense it's not running, if the fuel supply system is operating, then all of the fuel being pumped into the engine is not being burned. Therefor if your engine turns over for 15 or 20 seconds without starting all you have to do is go sniff the exhaust pipe. The exhaust will reak of unburned fuel that's being pumped into the engine, not burned, and then blown out the exhaust pipe. Hope that helps! __________________ I always tighten them before I loosen em, that's a trick that my father taught me. | | | 02-03-2009, 10:24 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: addison ,il Posts: 10 | thanks for the help i just took out my fuel pump and tested it and it doesn't work so im going change that thanks for ur advice | | | 02-04-2009, 02:41 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Phoenix AZ Posts: 121 | Glad you found the problem! Good luck with the install. I hate trying to get the smell of gasoline off of my skin. __________________ I always tighten them before I loosen em, that's a trick that my father taught me. | | | 02-04-2009, 01:35 PM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! The pump may have been weak from age, but something caused it to fail, and considering the temps, I would suspect a frozen line dead-heading the pump. Just my two cents... | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
