Default Cams for the M42. Kent VS Piper... Worth it?

Hello...

I was browsing some sites and I came across some aftermarket cams for the M42 Engine...
One is Kent, the other is Piper.
I don't know much about cams, but for those of you who do, here are the specs:

Kent:
Power band - 2000-6500
Cam Lift - .408"
Valve Lift - .408"
Duration - 256º
Timing Figures - 18/58 58/18
Full lift - 110º 110º

Piper:
Power band - 1500-6000
Cam Lift - NA
Valve Lift - .400"
Duration - 264º
Timing Figures - 22/62 62/22
Full lift - 110º 110º

I really don't know what these numbers mean, but would swapping cams be a good mod? My ti is not a daily driver, so low-end torque is not an issue...

I think cams on a 4banger would sound funny. I don't think you should do cams unles your engine is heavily modded.

Desktop Dyno is invaluable for making this choice.....

It's expensive enough to swap cams that I'd think about
buying it.

nah, cams on a 4 banger are not bad. I had an aircooled superbeetle with a Type4 conversion. I forget the cam I had in it, but it would not idle below 1200rpms and loped like a harley-davidson... but wow did it put down the power

I also had a very mild steet intake cam on my Tiburon, while it did not affect the idle, it lent a deeper tone to the car when you floored it.
