Posts: 3,156 | What type of roof do you have??? I was posting elsewhere, and this idea struck me. The California top is quite rare, but I think sun-roof delete is rare as well, with the majority of ti's having a normal sun-roof. Please fill in this poll, as I think we're ALL a little curious... PS Mine is sun-roof delete. | | | 01-17-2006, 12:00 AM | #2 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I have a normal sunroof on my 98. I believe some members that live in Austrailia have the glass sunroof which would've been cool on the ti. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-17-2006, 12:00 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Is no sun-roof ordered considered a "delete"? __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-17-2006, 12:06 AM | #4 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! The purpose of this poll is to see just who has the 'rare' set-up... | | | 01-17-2006, 12:26 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Yorkshire Posts: 151 | I thought cars without a sunroof had air con instead, it's usualy either or. Mine has a sunroof btw. __________________ E36/5 '95 318ti Auto. Now I also have seen posted only 200 CS were made. Don't know which figure is correct, but rare nonetheless. My base ti also has no sunroof, probably not a delete option, but a cost cutting measure on the cheapest ti in the line up. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 01-17-2006, 09:59 PM | #7 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! I know Ben probably had no idea how rare that car was when he converted it, but if that happend to be MY car, I would have NEVER converted it, and found another to convert. My standard sport from 1998 is fairly common, but if it was a factory radio delete car (as I know of NO other tis with radio delete) I would not have converted it either... Club Sports ARE rare, and the numbers put them on par with the 1995 M3 LTW (about 250 made, NONE had sunroof, but I know of one that had it added. [insert Napolean Dynamite "IDIOT, GAWD!" here]) | Actually Ben did not convert it. He bought it that way. A guy named Albert Bossert originally purchased the car as a toy and quickly had it converted by Turner Motorsports. The motor came from a 20K mile wrecked '95 M3 owned by Richard Kurtz. Up until 4.5 years ago when Ben bought the car, it had only 30K miles on it. Ben put another 30K in the two years he owned it. In that time, he redid much of the car with RE upgrades. I've added a few more things over the years and only added less than 4k miles. IMHO, converting an e30 M3 is more sacriligious. In the ti, it just makes sense. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 01-18-2006, 04:05 AM | #10 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Interesting. I thought Ben did the swap... But, although I do agree cutting an E30 is punishable by death in my eyes, the ClubSport ti was manufactured in lower total numbers, and is therefore destined to be the 'ugly duckling' collector car. Low entry cost, but very collectable down the road. Not within five years, more like 20 years when an unmolested example could go for more than original purchase price... You can imagine my horror when I find people who cut up E36 M3 Lightweights... I'd gladly kill for one. No problem at all. | | | 01-15-2007, 04:18 AM | #11 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: OHIO Posts: 74 | sunroof is really important, it will be nice when you drive on the highway then open it up. | | | 07-08-2010, 01:02 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: new york Posts: 5 | i dont have a sunroof and its summer time now in newyork... but i got ac | | | 03-18-2006, 08:00 PM | #13 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: PA Posts: 45 | I have a 1995 318ti club sport, with no sun roof : ) | | | 03-19-2006, 01:48 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Walnut Creek, CA Posts: 642 | Quote: Originally Posted by bachic55 I have a 1995 318ti club sport, with no sun roof : ) | Bachic55, supposedly there are only 3 1995 Club Sports out of 300 with the sunroof delete.
