had a blast with it, about 300 LESS hp than i'm used to, but the motor impressed me. unfortunately 2 weekends ago i broke an axle entering the course and ended up smacking the concrete barrier with both ends. i've decided not to fix the car and am picking up a 95 ti tomorrow instead from a member here.

this car is being parted out.. rollcage and all. will be cut out so that it can be welded back into place. should work in a ti, sedan or coupe.. just cut down some on the rear legs for the ti/coupe. i'm building another cage for my new ti, will be built slow and have my 2jzgte for the power plant from the start. 500+hp ti coming

not sure how I missed this thread

RIP 318i, at least you're replacing it with a ti, can't wait to see it with the 2JZ swap

wouldn't be relevant, this thread is fine without pictures, once he starts a thread for his ti it will be worthless without pictures

That is one stout 4 cylinder in that BMW. That motor is pulling hard. How much boost are you running?

Nice too bad to see it go. Can't wait to see the 2JZ in there

this is the reason for the changeup

may not look that bad, besides the front bumper being shoved a full 6" to the passenger side.. but the front frame rails are bent at about a 75* angle on the drivers side and about 60* on the passenger side.

the rear is also shoved over a few inches and the trunk is higher on the pass side by a few inches. the driver rear tire toes out at about 45*, the lower control looked like a taco and the hub itself is bent. driver axle snapped at the outer joint when i initiated the course.. found parts on the track before the crash site.

the cage and 5pts did the job.. i didnt feel a thing.. other than $$$ signs flying out the window.

i put the 318i up for sale a few weeks ago, b/c i wanted to do a ti anyway. go figure. i liked the car, its just that it never clicked for me in the looks dept. i love the look of the ti, and love my 95 hellrot active. cant wait to drive one +400 MORE hp.

here is a more recent couple of vids of the 318i R.I.P.

youtube posting owns me.. can someone fix that ^^^^^^ ?

haha.. strange thing is.. if i unbolted the front bumper from the mangled bumper support i think it would pop back into shape.. especially considering the 100+* temps here lately.. but its what is under the bumper that counts.

just got back with the new car.. 12 hrs on the road there and back.. left at 645am.. but it sure does come from some beautiful country..up in the mtns.

thanks Dustin.
