Default E36 323ti available in the UK?

I have a question. I am looking at getting an E36 compact here in the UK. I have seen on wiki that there was a 323ti model made.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_E36

But I cant find any of these for sale in the UK. Does anyone know if these were even made for the UK market (ie right hand drive)? Is my search in vain and should I console myself to the 318ti. Not that that is a good car, just a 6 cylinder compact does look rather appealing!

Anyway, just thought I would ask. Thanks for your time.

Unless you go for the E46 325ti.

The only real one (apart from LHD imports on ebay) i saw was outside a hotel in copenhagen.

I think they're definately continental europe only (possibly Far east too?)

I have a 1997 323ti...i was just about to go and make a seperate post to everyone requesting information on them, since there seems to be very very little knowledge on this particualr model (lets get the 323ti owners together). For example i a redoing my suspension this week and finding sport springs for it is a mission, the model is not listed in any drop down menu for any parts orders, so always need to find compatible parts....which all depends on what it is i am looking for since it's got e30 rear, e36 front, and a I6 M52 up front too. anyhow, any information/links are greatly appreciated. I do have a small folder of accumilated info so if i could possibly be of help, drop me a line.
I have owned mine for about 2 years now, the car is originaly from germany, i purchased the car in spain and am the 3rd owner. As far as i know they were only sold in mainland europe with left hand drive. (i saw there was a guy here in this forum with one in mexico?)

better to get in touch with me with specific questions to avoid me writting a full review here, but i absolutly love this car!! it is my second bmw, and while not my last i hope to never get rid of this ride. it is a blast to drive and so far no surprises on the limit. I live in southern spain so i get lots of sun, so it's riding on full summer z rated rubber, 16".
bye for now....

Interesting. You shouldnt have any problem buying suspension pieces for a regular 318ti US/UK Ti.

And I've only heard of the 323ti in Germany or Europe because of Wiki! haha

"Interesting. You shouldnt have any problem buying suspension pieces for a regular 318ti US/UK Ti. "

the main issue i am having is springs...
There wasn't a problem to find 318ti parts, but since i have more weight up front i wanted to get springs that were manufactured for the 323ti and not the 318ti,,,,what i might have needed to do is get a set of 318ti springs and just fit the rear, then buy another set of springs for a 325/328/M and fit those to the front. But this would leave me with left over mis-matched springs,,,,so i am not doing it.
i am not done with my upgrade yet, so cant confirm anything, but i have ordered a set of koni sport SA shocks, and having them manufacture springs for me.

cheers all,
BOb

I have a M3 powered 318ti and I use M coupe suspension for my car: works great. Same rear end with similar weight distribution.

Cheers
