My own fault, on the way home from work thinking about loads of sh!t I'm having to deal with atm, not paying attention. Braked late, went into the corner little to quick, lost the frount, drifted wide & hit some poor sod in a Renault. No one was hurt fortunately but my ride's a mess. Had the insurance approved repairer round today & his first impression was it's written off (cars insured for £7k). Sweet talked him a little & he appreciated how much the car means to me, he's gonna talk to his governer & if he agrees they're gonna take it in & have a closer look. Dunno what I'm going to do if it's written off, finding another ti as clean & low miles as this one is going to be real hard. | | | 04-12-2006, 08:50 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | I hate to tell you but it looks the frame is pretty well knackered. I know how it is though, losing your ti at this point is like breaking up with a long-time girlfriend. Glad to hear everybody was alright. If you're patient, maybe something will come around. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 04-12-2006, 09:11 PM | #3 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Oh man that really sucks. I hate seeing pictures like this of fellow ti'ers. Well i hope you find another nice looking ti if your going to stick with the same. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-12-2006, 10:19 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Westfield, IN Posts: 1,335 | thats a bitch to fix!! i wish you the best of luck with the insurance and trying to find a new 318!! sorry about the car!! __________________ Greg M42 Club member 186 WTB: HELLROT RED CLUB SPORT 95 ti sold but staying in the family. | | | 04-12-2006, 10:37 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | ouch dude. let me know if there's anything to scavenge....(i know, i know, but these things MUST be asked) __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 04-12-2006, 11:22 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | being in the UK, you can live our American dream and get a 323ti. | | | 04-13-2006, 12:12 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | I said it before and ill say it again, this year has gone very very bad for us TI'ers. | | | 04-13-2006, 07:00 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: UK Posts: 312 | Quote: Originally Posted by Panzer_M being in the UK, you can live our American dream and get a 323ti. | Now there's an idea, scooting around in this for the meantime. | | | 04-13-2006, 12:10 PM | #9 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | gah! that sux dog's bollox! glad everyone was ok. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 04-13-2006, 03:18 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996Bmw318TI I said it before and ill say it again, this year has gone very very bad for us TI'ers. | Seriously, what's the deal?
