hey people, i was busy installing my nice new black grills this morning and after removing the original front chrome edged grill, i noticed that the thin strip of bodywork under the grills is quite badly corroded.   seizing the chance to mod the car a bit more can anyone suggest a good looking replacement for this part? it encompasses the grills and follows the bottom of the lights round to the wings. __________________

ummm ... the stock part? you could upgrade to the 97+ style and then get the 97+ style wide kidney grills. otherwise, i don't know of any aftermarket anything that replaced that piece. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles

Matt, they are quality! they do look much better and i'm glad that installing them made me find the rust. i'm not sure about the induction set-up as yet. need to open the bonnet and figure out how to install it, i forgot what you said. You have to use the existing bolts and mounts, i can show you sometime if you like.
dave they are the wider 97 grilles. those set of grilles i sold ya are the conversion! putting a 97 grille surround on will make them useless as the fitment will be different.
