Default What should I do?

Im debating on swapping the engine and tranny or just swapping the tranny withba manual and installing a turbo. In the last two years I have refreshed the cooling system, airlines along with new spark system so I feel its smart to keep the engine for a few more years.

So whats your thoughts people.

I really like the S52 in the TI and am currently watching for a M52 Alum block out of a Z3 for one of the TIs. The extra power of the 6 but a little lighter than the M44 is appealing.

If you're looking for power M50/2 turbo, looking for gains & reliability S52, if you looking for something unique M44 turbo, & if you're looking for straight reliability keep the M44 & make it "better than stock" new seals, gaskets bushings all around & enjoy a solid, fun extremely practical, & great on gas little hatch

Is the m44 really bullet proof? Im getting 22mpg with ny auto m44 but I think the tranny is broken and killing the mpg.

It's pretty reliable, and very easy to work on. I'm getting around 22mpg with misfires (from previous owners damage) & ive heard of people getting 29+mpg daily. I'm getting my ti ready for road tripping so I find quite a bit of value in the M44!

Im getting 29 daily too and 32-34 mpg on the last few weekend get aways. I have a couple toys (95' 300ZX, 65 Ghia, 300C HEMI, 92' Porsche 968, 16' ram 2500) & the 318ti is the best for gas!

It's fun too...
