Im debating on swapping the engine and tranny or just swapping the tranny withba manual and installing a turbo. In the last two years I have refreshed the cooling system, airlines along with new spark system so I feel its smart to keep the engine for a few more years. So whats your thoughts people. 99 dakar M3 vert & 97 M-tech ti | | | 12-26-2016, 08:32 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | I really like the S52 in the TI and am currently watching for a M52 Alum block out of a Z3 for one of the TIs. The extra power of the 6 but a little lighter than the M44 is appealing. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Im getting 22mpg with ny auto m44 but I think the tranny is broken and killing the mpg. 99 dakar M3 vert & 97 M-tech ti | | | 12-27-2016, 03:40 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Quote: Originally Posted by 3DGE Is the m44 really bullet proof? I'm getting around 22mpg with misfires (from previous owners damage) & ive heard of people getting 29+mpg daily. I'm getting my ti ready for road tripping so I find quite a bit of value in the M44! I have a couple toys (95' 300ZX, 65 Ghia, 300C HEMI, 92' Porsche 968, 16' ram 2500) & the 318ti is the best for gas! It's fun too... | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
